iCloud quit working after 4.2.2 update. Can't connect to server message.

My iCloud email account quit working on my Galaxy Note 8 when it updated to 4.2.2. I deleted the account, then tried to add it again, but all I get is the message "unable to connect to server". Even when using the same settings that my account had before the update. The auto set-up does not work, so I have tried to manually set it up. These are the steps that I have followed, and the entries that autofill in each of the fields during set-up.

1. IMAP Account
2. Username: myname@me.com
3. Password: xxxxxxxx
4. IMAP Server: imap.mail.me.com OR mail.me.com I have tried both.
5. Security Type: SSL
6. Port: 993
7. IMAP Path Prefix: (Left Blank)

When I hit next, I get the "unable to connect to server" message. I have Googled, searched this forum and Apple Support and have tried every combination of security types, prefixes for the server, IMAP path prefixes, changed my password and taken every suggestion that those sources offered, but I still can't get it to work. Oh, and I have reset my modem and wi-fi connections. I was considering a factory reset, but I am losing faith that even that will work. But, being that I am not the most tech savvy guy, I thought that I would reach out to this group and hopefully find that there is a simple solution that I just haven't tried that will restore my faith and email. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I tend to use Inomail on Android devices for this reason. The native email apps even if they are set up correctly tend to stop working for no reason. There is a Lite version you can try for free.
