ICS may finally be out by today or tomorrow

I could be wrong but I'm writing this thread to see if anybody else gets the same results. I pretty much check for the update everyday but it wasn't until very early this morning that Ive been getting a communications error saying a update is available but the servers are busy. I've heard that whenever it errors out it always says that but I wouldn't be surprised if the update is now ready aand they r uploading it to the servers now for OTA distribution. Can everyone on the forums check for the update and see if you get the same message?

Just checked. First it told me it lost communications. Then on the second time it told me that I'm allowed to check for an updated in 23:59 hours again.

So now you are restricted to check once a day!

Go to applications then select all and scroll down until you see device manager. Click on that then hit "clear data" once done you can check for the update again. (When you click on check for update it will say sim is initializing, click it a few times again after words and it will let you check again)

I've seen the same thing here (Pennsylvania).

I, also, check for updates nearly daily, checked late last evening (might even have been this morning), and got a message there was a software update available, followed by the communications error and the update would be downloaded when the servers are available. I just cleared the data and tried again, with the same result.

It is simply killing me waiting for ISC. I have never been able to get Kies to install on my notebook, so I'll wait with baited breath for the OTA update like the rest of you.

Or...simply change the phone's date to tomorrow, or the next day, etc. After the check is completed, adjust the phone back to the current date.

Phandroid jjust announced ics official for the at&t s2 thru kies. I think its safe to assume we may be up next and this communication error isn't a coincidence. This is good news!!! Everybody brace yourselfs

Heard another leak version of ICS for the samsung skyrocket will be leaked soon by a group called design gears who are famous for skyrocket leaks. The compiled date of the update is for july 12th and its 4.0.4. Either this is the final and official build of ICS that we will be receiving or AT&T is testing this build currently and it may be another week before we get it. Hate to let anybody down so we will know for sure hopefully in the next couple of days. The S2 only had one leak and now they have ICS where as the skyrocket has had officially now 4 leaks.

Man if that's true I couldn't understand for the life of me why it would take tthat long. Espically when tthe leaks builds have been reported to work just fine.

Yeah especially when Galaxy S2's on ATT are being updated there is not much of a difference in the 2 phones i dont believe hope its not true but i just thought i would share the info i was told

My battery life has been horrible since 2.3.6 which i wonder why considering how minor of a update it was. Another rumor is going around that the leak build that design gears is leaking (I727UCLF5 4.04 Compiled June 12th) is the official build and is currently out for OTA distribution but considering nobody has spoken up about receiving the update I can't really validate that. Either way once somebody successfully see a "your software is current" or downloading new update after this communication error is gone I hope somebody will post it on this thread so we at least know if its out or not.

Just spoke with AT&T cs and he told me that for the skyrocket its set to release mid-august

The AT&T reps you talk to on the phone, know less than you do, if you visit this forum on any consistent basis. While, I'm not one to bag on them... they've always been good to me. Their knowledge of what is currently happening is lacking.

Take everything they told you and just data dump it.

Wife's GSII? Nothing... no server errors, no update notices. No kies update. Read their forums, maybe a handful of people even got notices.... even fewer, got an upgrade. So whoever said the GSII got it and we didn't... is mistaken.

Yesterday my Skyrocket said I had an update available but the servers were busy and to try again later. Today, it states my software is up to date but I can check again in 5 hours.........

I'm still on Gingerbread 2.3.6. so they didn't sneak it in on me.

True that. Add Samsung support (huh?) to your suggestion of dumping whatever they tell you. In fact, don't even bother contacting Samsung, unless you enjoy hearing that they're sorry for your problem and that they'll be happy to help you. Not.

Still the same message today, Kies doesn't allow firmware upgrades for my Skyrocket. My guess it'll be this weekend.
