Guys,
Android 4.x.x (Ice Cream Sandwich) is not going to get official release for the ace. There have been people saying it will but there are loads of sensible reasons why it wont:
1 - Not enough ram
2 - Features cannot work (i.e. Not android beam (no NFC chip) no face unlock (no front camera) etc
3 - by the time the rollout starts for lower devices it wont be officially supported. (its not official on most phones yet)
Fret ye not though as some of the Devs over at XDA (and a few other sites) are porting it to the ace. I Mean actual android 4.x.x. So far there are running versions (things like camera dont work and a few other problems) but it is getting closer all the time! It actually works well though so far. I will share any news as it comes.
Custom roms like the great Jusada's Ice Cream Sunday FINAL are not ICS. Never pretended to be. people refer to it as ICS which is where the confustion comes from. It is a rom based on CM7.x (2.3.7) which an ICS theme!
