in need of some assistance with a mid 1048 tablet

i recently bought a cheap coby kyros mid 1048 tablet with ics 4.0.3
i have already rooted my device and am now looking for further assistance the tablet does not come with a play store which i would like to get running on my tab i have tried a few methods with no luck so any advice there would be great i am also trying to get recovery iv tried clockwork mod and team win recovery project but neither have a version for my device and finally i would like a costume rom. i have scoured the net for days in search for some tips on any of these 3 topics with no luck. i believe that if i can get some kind of recovery on my tab the rest will become much easier so if anyone know of an alternative cwm or twrp version that will work with my device or possibly a whole new recovery system that i havent tried that may work let me know and il give her a chance. thank you for your time
 
Hello and welcome to the forums . wow you are good til you need a custom recovery and a custom ROM . its not much out now the play store can be added . you need the play store and Google framework . then apps such as gmail Google ears . most of the apps will be in a zip file . this is where you would need a custom recovery to flash the g app zip that will put Google play . you can also try mobogenie its something as Google play

But the mid 1042-1048 ...has been out old software the mid 7042 replaced a lot . some of these tablets recovery Dont work . how did you root cause Z4 is the only one cause it has a app . no USB needed .
 
iv downloaded a few apk files of google play and framework none seem to work iv tried a simple install no luck I tried putting them on the root of my device and power cycle methods and none work I was able to get one to open but couldn't get past the login page it kept telling me that it couldn't establish a data connection I have found a few links fdfor apk downloads for my decive but when I visit the site is expired or a 404 error so I can't find any hard software for my device
 
If you do just put all the Google apps in the system app folder and be sure to set permission as RW-R-R the system folder has the app folder called app this will be either the second or third folder located in the file explorer
 
Yes I have the es file explore that come as stock seems to do well and just to clearify I can install kindle fire software without damage or bricking myself .
 
ok so i tried the above steps to find kindle fire software and there where no files. so i tried a search and found a guide and with a few apks but they didnt work do u have any ideas where to get some working kindle fire apks and any advice on the method of install. i should add that i was able to get my gmail app to work with those files i used
 
What app files was offered from the fire and did you take the fire app files and place into your system apps and set the permission for all the extra apps you installed to rw-r-r

i used the guide and files from this site How to install Google apps on Kindle Fire HD or HDX it had 4 files G account manager, G service framework, G play service, and Gmail. i also downloaded a google play apk from google version 4.9.13 i believe the latest and the four pack is verison 3.2.25 and 4..0.4 so idk maybe thats my problem with all being different versions. with these files and guide i was able to get the play store to open and all seems fine until i click on something then it crashes. also if i use clash of clans and try and sign in it wants an update for google services and then crashes. and finally when i tried to install the play store apk that i downloaded by its self i tried to install a few ways i tried to move it to system apps it wouldnt allow me to i also tried downloading to my pc and placing it on my system apps but still no and finally a regular apk install with reboot
 
O I see what you did now . what you want to do is go to app manager and wipe data and cache for all the apps that you installed just in this order wipe cache and then wipe data. When done reboot the tablet and it should work
 
Did you read all the posts?
Start around 10/14/13 in regarding NAND lock.

Coby changed something to do with that lock in the fall of 2013
