Root install new android build on samsung i7500

Actually, the new build is Android 2.2.1 aka Froyo. Last official ROM from Sam*censored is Android 1.6 (donut) in some regions, other regions are stuck on Android 1.5 (cupcake).

GALAXO is based on official Android 1.6 release from Sam*censored.
GAOSP is based on Android 2.2.1 custom build by Drakaz & co.

My suggestion for now is to go with GALAXO, later when you have enough confidence regarding process to install the custom ROM's to try GAOSP.
Of course, the easiest way to upgrade is to get GalaxyUpdater (donated) version and let it do it's job.

There are like a bazillion topics about that, if you just have used search, or browsed a bit.

Here are the most important ones:

You probably cant because Froyo is 2.2.1, Eclair is the 2.0/2.1 model and that project was discontinued, and also wont be a good ideea. Try the GAOSP Froyo 2.2.1 link i gave here earlier....
I wonder if people read this threads before posting in them?!

Actually, I think not. :p

But it's a god idea to open a new thread or write somewhere. It's better for them to ask questions then to bust their phones.
Unless they have money to get a better one. :P
