Too many times now has CWM let me down.

What seems to happen on my S3 is it restores /system and /data/app but not /data/data which is the whole point of my backup to be fair. Its really starting to annoy me. Maybe its because Im on whatever came with CF root when I rooted, I dont know but I'm itching for a decent recovery,

Yeah cwm was kind of buggy on my s2 for a while as well. It did become reliable in the end though so maybe it just needs a few updates.
 
Just jumped from a DHD, and must say some ROMs caused CWM to play up. I always backup in Titanium as well as create a nandroid - And I always keep a working nandroid, for those awkward non boot moments!!

Haven't flashed a ROM on the SGs3 yet, but rooted and waiting for the official JB launch.
 
Mine keeps freezing when doing backups, it's really weird. But it's ok I guess. I got really confused the first time using it when I accidentally held one of the volume buttons for too long and it disabled the scrolling :-/ Took mr ages to figure out what happened there.

I would love 4EXT recovery too, best recovery by far
 
This is twice I needed to restore it and this has happened and I've had to starty a fresh with my titanium backups. So unstable. Had enough
 
I know what the answer is I suppose so why do I ask? You did backup and restore in recovery and not the cwm app. The app never played nicely with siyah

bummer :( would be lost without my cwm - maybe you need a good ol' desire ;)
good luck finding a decent recovery - hopefully it will be sorted by time i get my s3 :)

Adding the teamwin recovery to the siyah kernel is on gokhanmoral's to do lists so we should get another recovery some time
 
The only implementation of CWM source since 2.5.0.7 was 4EXT. Still hoping distantly for this.
 
Cool. Just need that extSdCard to mount.

Meanwhile, my favourite theme is now CWM touch compatible (since yesterday) so have ditched 5.5

Which Theme? I thought it was more to with ROM.
Havn't tried a full theme yet, just the toggles and status bar etc...
