[International / GSM] CWM Being annoying as hell

So not sure if anyone else is having these issues with CWM.

My issue is not performance related at all. I can flash, backup, restore, everything perfectly (except mount USB storage but I understand why).

My issue is that when I am using the Volume rocker to select things, I will press down ONCE, and it will shoot down like 3 choices. I hit V+, and it shoots back up 2. I finally get it on the file I want, and then hit Power to click it, and CWM thinks I press it twice, and so it clicks on "No" and takes me back to the screen where I have to choose the folder/zip.

This has literally happened 4 times in a row... Just makes it a pain to flash things. Not a big deal, but annoying as hell...

This sounds like it might be related to the volume-fix issue...i.e., where the volume rocker was overly sensitive (I believe that is right).

Are you on Build number ICL53F (bottom of the Settings -> About phone list)?

If not, maybe you have a hardware problem...?

Ya I am on ICL53F. It doesn't do it in the actual OS when changing volume though...

I have tested this a lot. On my home page, I can change volume 1 click at a time, every time. But in CWM it still jumps all around. I tried re-flashing CWM through ROM manager, but that didn't fix anything.

If nobody else is having this issue, then I am dumbfounded because I am 99% sure it isn't hardware issues.

I've had the menu selection jump on me a couple of times, too...I just assumed it was because the volume rocker was a little small and I held it down too long.

I can also tell you that I've looked at the keypress logic in Amon_RA's custom recovery before (I specifically had to look at this because I changed the C-code to recognize using the hardware keys for navigation instead of the trackball for the HTC Droid Eris). There is a certain element of timing related to the software routines that control this and they are certainly different and separate from the "regular" Android logic. I haven't looked recently as Koush's ClockworkMod code (my Amon_RA efforts were done last November), but I'm guessing that the code would be similar.

So, I'm just guessing that your device is a little more sensitive than others.

We might have have to wait to see if enough others report this to see if Koush might have a look and make a tweak (if that is indeed the issue).

I'm sure that will be addressed in future releases. I overshot a menu once as well, but honestly it's not a big deal for me. Your phone may be overly senstive, or you may not have the catlike reflexes that I do. :D

I have noticed it skipping too.

On top of that I got stuck in CWM and had to pull the battery...

I hit the power button on the option "Reboot system now" and it just turned the screen black, if I hit it again the options showed back up. Tried cycling up and down and nothing seemed to help...pulled the battery. Good thing it wasn't a Razr.

Another bug that comes along with the menu jumping. Sometimes it will randomly say "Back button disabled" and then the Power button does nothing. Then I have to push the volume buttons randomly a bunch of times and then it will say "Back button enabled".

Ya, maybe mine is a little more sensitive than others. But it seriously does it EVERY time I am in recovery.

If you push vol up/down at the same time, it seems to disable the "go back" option.

I have the same problem with the volume buttons making me miss my menu selections. Something I'll learn to live with I guess.

Ya, I figured that's what enables/disables the Back option, but even when I click both at the same time in CWM, it doesn't enable/disable it. Seems to be pretty random on my phone. I guess my volume rockers are just freaking out CWM for some reason, but has no issues with the OS itself.

I just hope a new version comes out soon for me to try...

I did notice the jump in CWM but it isn't enough to be a nuisance. What I DO have a problem with, which has nothing to do with the actual CWM program, is that the power button is where my old Droid X volume buttons used to be. So does anyone wanna guess how many times I end up having to boot back into CWM because I hit the damn power button?

This fooled me more than a few times already.
