Root [International] How to root note 2

I want to root my Note 2 so I can install custom roms. I previously rooted my Desire HD with the help of these forums so I thought I'd ask here again.

I checked XDA and there are so many mentions of things like triangle away, the flash counter etc. I'm quite confused.

I was wondering if someone could walk me through on how to root my Note 2 and install ROMs ( I wan't to install roms like CM10 and Paranoid android), as I don't wan't to risk going along on my own as if I brick, I cannot afford another phone =P

I have an Unlocked GT-n7100 on the latest update (4.1.2).

I have checked but the rooting guide dotpoint is just text not a link, so it doesn't really help me.

Yes that is how to root just make sure you use the one specific to your device/carrier.
