Root Is it possible to root Motorala Droid 2.2.3 without computer?

My friend has a Motorala Droid 2.2.3 that he wants to root but he doesn't have a computer, we've tried z4root but it failed So is there any other way that we can root the phone without a computer?

Sorry this reply is so late. Are you sure it has 2.2.3? I thought the last release for the Droid was 2.2.2, but eitehr way rooting the Motorola A855 phone with any version above 2.2 IIRC requires a computer.

You _might_ be able to get gingerbreak to work on the phone only, but I highly doubt it. What is odd that the underlying method that z4root uses will still work if you use the rageagainstthecage.bin file manualy (requires PC).

But the easiest and most reliable method is the one that Motocache1 created a long time ago (requires PC):

So, this reply is really of no help, but gives you a start if your friend can get access to a computer to root their phone.
