Root Is this lack of memory normal?

Feb 24, 2011
I have a rooted HTC Desire.
I started having the low memory space issue right off the bat. Looked around for info and decided to go the Root way.
Rooted it, installed Move to SD enabler, debugging on, etc. Moved most of my apps to SD including Youtube, Gmail, Maps, Facebook, etc.
The only app currently on the internal memory is the Market.
I understand that some system apps cannot be moved to SD like contacts, etc.
My question is....I don't have a lot of apps installed to begin with, most of my apps are on SD...how come I still have only 30MB of internal memory left?
Out of the 147 available only 31 is free.
I am trying to find out if there is anything else I can do to free memory and stop the low on memory nonsense for good.
If I could change to the Motorola Atrix now I would but I still have some 6 months on my contract.
In the meantime I would like to be able to install apps without worrying I won't have enough memory to run them.
Is there anything else that can be done?

Thank you in advance,
