CA members,

Did anyone else get a Text from Metro, notifying about the new CA taxes, but that Metro already includes the taxes and fees, your bill wont go up on Jan 1 ?

That is way cool. So my $50 promo plan will still be $50 all inclusive (I hope)

Now I wonder, is this a grandfathered thing, or new subscribers as well (after Jan 1).

I Haven't seen this type of email with Boost yet.

It should apply to old and new customers, a carrier couldn't grandfather a tax rate imposed by the government.

All MetroPCS users in California will be paying the extra tax, but they lowered their pretax plan price so the total cost is the same. Example on the $35 plan (numbers are made up):

OLD: $31.40 plan + $3.60 tax = $35
NEW: $30.90 plan + $4.10 tax = $35

That is just such a sweet deal they absorbed the new tax.

Now I am really "stuck" with the $50 promo plan
I just wish they would have more Metro phones to choose from, that werent entry level, or flagship.
