Root Just trying to make a few tweaks

Sorry for all the noob stuff, but I've been out of life for the past 6 years and missed the start of the smart phone revolution. So I have a few questions about tweaking or "Hacking".

First of let me get this out of the way.
Device: OV
Recovery: Xionia 1.2518.6
Rom: aospCMod

Now for the questions;

1) Is there anything out there that can change the stock ico ns in the status bar?
2) Is there any way to make custom boot animations (Not just change them; I have boot animation changer installed) on android?
3) Is there any way make custom splash screens on android?

1) You can use UOT Kitchen to change icons and a whole lot more, and you can also do it yourself using apktools, apkmanager, yaffs/unyaffs, etc.

2) To make a custom boot animation, you only need a zip file with the series of png animations, and a text file that describes how it should act (google it, it's pretty easy to find instructions)

3) The splash screens, ie the LG logos, are much harder. The first on is stored on the flash eprom in your phone, and is virtually inchangeable. The second one can be changed by extracting the ramdisk, taking an image and converting it to the rle format, repacking the ramdisk, then flashing it. This should be left to those with experience with the linux kernel, or done with TONS of prior research. Check asadullah's threads for more info.
