Lansing, MI 4g Speeds Always Slow???

I'm in the middle Lansing, MI and I have never broken 1mb/s with my LG Connect 4g. I read other markets typically hit 3+mb/s and the Lansing area 4g network isn't anything new.

Anybody around here getting good speeds?

Just curious....

try talking to metro's customer service on live chat via the website.
Tell them that you're having issues with 4g, and that restarting, and moving around doesn't affect it at all.
They'll check the signal quality on your phone via software on their pc's, and then if it's strong enough to NOT be a correlating issue, they'll walk you through a dial in menu to get your phone to re-identify itself with their servers while on the backend they reinitialize the cache for your device on their end to make sure a "clean" connection is established. That very well may fix it.

I'll try that. I just figured it sucked around here....

Was just hoping it wasn't just me...But faster speeds would be nice.

Well, I have had issues with mine for a while now, and they did that and it works just fine now. So hopefully it is in fact just your connection to their service, and renewing the lease with a clean cache will fix it :D

Good Luck!

You would't happen to remember how they had you do that, would you?

do you have issues streaming youtube videos?

do you have issues streaming youtube videos?

Yes! I can barely watch YouTube, if even(I have plenty of data left to use too)...I also drop Internet connection (both 4g and 1x) periodically. I am in the middle of a decent 4g area, very disappointing.

I can't find any "live advisor" stuff via metro's website...how did you get to that dracconus?

Yup, but it wouldn't matter because you're going to need your phones service code. :D

Anyways, when you talk to them tell them that you need to get into the CDG menu (##626*) to re-authenticate with their towers, and to their box. Should get you going pretty quickly on that.

I had them run me through the usual loop. They did a soft reset where I manually powered off and then on my phone...no help.

Then I had them go through the programming sequence. We changed the home SID from 6504 to 6503. Those were the only changes. Data did pick up slightly, but still waaaayyyy under 1mb/s down and up.

Lansing area just suck for metro 4G? The rep had agreed that I was in a good area....

I'm pretty disappointed. My virgin 3G ran about the same....
