Hello all,
I'm new to here but these past couple days i've pretty much lived on here and XDA but I see lots of helpful people (@iowabowtech, @scary alien)

Breakdown:
  • LG 2 Stock KK 4.4.2
  • Rooted via towelroot->Installed XPOSED->all good for while
  • accidentally installed LP via OTA
  • Things still worked fine -> Eventually phone gets boggy and slow
  • tried to install XPOSED again -> NO GO->tried TWRP-> NO GO
  • flashed reset phone to 4.2.2 -> Rooted via towelroot again
  • flashed phone to 4.4.2-> wanted ClougyG2 3.3
  • again accidentally install OTA-> bricked "secure booting error blah blah blah"-> cried
  • try Ubuntu-> do all "dd" commands-> fastboot loop-> flash "laf" & "aboot" (something about max file size pops up???
  • no luck-> flash all (sbl1,boot,rpm,tz,boot,recover(twrp))
  • bricked again but no error in top screen
  • comes up on pc as "QHSUSB_BULK"-> ??????????

From here, what should i do? should i try going to Ubuntu and re-flashing them? Im kind of lost in what to do. I just wanted CloudyG2 3.3 :(

Any input will be appreciated.
Thank you all!!

Install the Qualcomm USB drivers:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3hovx8h7nauy7e6/Qcomm_Drivers.zip?dl=0

Unzip all drivers into a regular folder. Go to your device that's listed as bulk in device manager, right click and update driver selecting the option to provide your own files, point to the entire folder of drivers you just unzipped.

After install, the device should change in device manager and read more detailed info. You should now know if you have a 9006 brick or a 9008 brick. Let us know and we can go from there.

The xda thread everybody uses for "no download mode no recovery" needs to be deleted or updated. The general idea still applies but different partitions are needed now. Those instructions are no longer valid.

Sorry I've been at school all day and wont be home till later tonight. I will try this out and will let you know when I get there!

And I guess so..... :(

Ok so you got regular bulk mode back. So you can follow the same basic instructs as before only this time dd write aboot, boot, dbi, laf, modem, rpm, sbl1, tz. Try to use partitions that match the last configuration on your device if possible which as I understand you is LP. If that's the case, use 30f:

http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/D800/Stock_Firmware

When done, unplug and power off phone by long pressing power for no less than 15 seconds. Then press and hold volume up while at same time plugging into PC for download mode. If you have that, flash tot via lg flash tools to fully restore stock, then regroup from there.

Just rebooted into Ubuntu and dd all the .imgs and now im into download mode!!!! <3
SO, we found out the issue was i was installing the wrong .imgs files.

Now, If my end goal is cloudyG2 3.3, should i flash 4.4.2 or should I try to dd TWRP recovery, and use that to load Cloudy?

I don't know what is compatible with what anymore as it pertains to roms, recoveries, modems, bump or not, etc. I quit trying to keep track of all that long ago cuz its too much of a cluster on this device. I just help people unbrick, then they can create their own new tragedies. :D

I'm all about rooted, stock ftw with custom recovery there only for a bailout adb connection. That's how I've been rolling on this phone since late 2013. Too many dragons for my liking. :)

Hahaha well thank you very much and there is a lot of crap and variations of everything for the LG G2...
Now if i wanted to flash LP, do you have a link i could get it from, because i dont know how to update it from KK without OTA...

ALTHOUGH...... if i go KK, could i install twrp and then try cloudy?

Edit: Thanks Amoco for the input, I guess i will go to KK then try TWRP and CloudyG2... then if we get 6.0 ill figure that out when i get there lol

EDIT #2: I also saw somewhere that if you were having issues installing TWRP (I was hence my reason for original reset...) then in the LG Flash Tool to click board and not upgrade... what is the difference between the two?

To your first question, yes you could flash straight to kitkat via tot (v20c for d800, you can find it linked here and there) and from there you can use kitkat autorec for twrp and then flash cloudy. Read cloudy thread carefully to make sure there aren't any modem or other dependencies though.

As to your 2nd question, I have no idea. Never done that, not understanding the point either.

Finally, if you are wanting LP, you may be able to use the LG Mobile Support Tool. It may bring you forward to stock LP, not positive. I haven't used that tool, others have had some success for the purpose of updating to newer stock firmware.

Alright well I flashed what I had and now I'm on 20c so this I good. Although I can't seem to find autorec that phone says will work. Play store doesn't have it (only d801) when I search for.it off my phone. I guess I can download the apk and try that.

Ignore edit 2 plead lol

Alright, so I can try the tool but not OTA.

Thanks so much by the way:)

I assume you found it but if not:

Be advised, if you get TWRP and flash Cloudy roms...unless he's changed his methods, the build.prop is ammended to show model G2 or similar. This is counter to the understanding of LG Flash Tools software. So if you ever run into trouble, you will have to either edit build.prop to reflect actual model number of D800 or hexedit tot to allow proper function of tot flash (LG Flash Tools). Otherwise you will incur "wrong model" error. The software does not understand "G2", it's looking for a specific model to proceed. This has been a side effect of build.prop registers not matching that of the proprietary software designed to reflash stock firmware. If you never have troubles, this is not an issue. If you do...then well :D

Update: Everything was going fine, had AutoRec+TWRP, so i flash cloudy, go through installation all good, it installs, says, "would you like to reboot" I say yes, back to error 9006... sigh:confused:

and Yeah i read about that somewhere along the line haha

All back up now, trying to figure out why cloudy didnt work think i have to be LP for 3.3

OMFG..... so i just re did everything, reflashed stock, autorec, supersu, etc... did some serarch, said i needed KK bootloader so i flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/d802-bootloader-changer-1-1-jb-kk-lp-t3104380 and it worked, so i did the KK bootloader... now i have the "secure booting error" thing again... how can i get into twrp and use my restore i made?

edit: i can still go into stock recovery (power btn + vol down) and download mode

aaaaaaaand this is why I don't recommend messing about on this device anymore. :D

So to be clear, is it true to say that you cannot boot the device normally, and you lost your TWRP recovery which was replaced somehow by the stock recovery? I'm wondering if you actually ever had TWRP this time around. Maybe autorec had a problem installing TWRP because its strange you can go to stock recovery right now.

Anyway, lets hope the above does not describe your situation because you're not going to like the prognosis if so.

edit: well i guess you still have download mode so you're ok. I missed that part until I read your post again just now.

It is weird that TWRP doesn't come up, but honestly, it never did if i booted from off position, only if I had the phone on and used quickboot and such...

And it is true, I try to boot and i get error, but i can go stock recovery to reset all data and download mode... So I guess i should just reflash KK. Will let you know how that goes...

LOL
JESUS
JUST LET ME HAVE CLOUDY PLZ

And it is true, I try to boot and i get error, but i can go stock recovery to reset

Ah ok so that's just the "do you want to reset" screen. Yeah on this device you actually say yes to that question. It then launches you into TWRP. So if you installed TWRP already, then you're good right now. Seems odd but that's how we access custom recovery using the hard keys on this device.

Just read that... ugh
well I reflashed KK and rerooted, probably will use autorec again and all that good stuff. I just have to find out why it isn't working with cloudy.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696 could this play a part in it???

edit: http://blastagator.ddns.net/rom.php what if i flashed the ROM-d80030b-stripped-v1.1-blastagator.zip. that will get me to LP right?

I think it's not working because it's intended for LP users who have reverted their bootloader to bump'd kitkat. See what I mean about all the crazy dependencies I mentioned earlier? You are starting out from kitkat and when you use autorec, it downgrades to the JB bootloader in order to utilize loki.

So if you're dead set on getting Cloudy, you'll either need to do a whole bunch of investigation on how to use bump starting from a stock KK setup, or instead look into Cloudy 2.2 which is more so made for your current setup out of the box without the necessity of involving bump.

For 3.3, I think starting out with root, then using a bump'd twrp recovery might do it. At that point you're already on the kk bootloader obviously which is the prerequisite for 3.3.

See my thoughts above if you really want 3.3. I made some edits a moment ago that may provide some clarity. There was a time I could recite the exact methods in every scenario but I haven't used the G2 now in almost a year so some of the particulars are becoming well...cloudy. :D

But there is a way for you to do 3.3 if you want from your current KitKat state. At minimum it involves a bump'd TWRP. I just can't remember if there are any other qualifiers in addition to that.
