Help LG G2 Screen replacement, now screen won't stay on?

Hi Guys,

I dropped and subsequently broke my G2 screen and opted for a replacement unit (frame and screen) as the frame had a few dings. Watched various You Tube videos and then did the repair last night.

The phone is working, I got past the white ghost lines issue on the display connector with some electrical tape, but when I put the phone on, the screen wont stay on, it immediately turns off within a second. The only workaround I have at the moment is to shine a bright light at the proximity sensor area to get it to stay on. Once I have entered password the screen will stay on, but that isn't a viable long term workaround!

I have ordered a replacement proximity sensor from ebay, is this likely to be the culprit? If not, what could it be? Appreciate if anyone who has experience of this would share their fix.

Phone is unlocked (bought from Amazon Warehouse deal) and using EE SIM in the UK. I do not believe this is a software issue as prior to the drop, even with 5.02 Android it worked fine.

Thanks

#Update

The screen stay on issue above seems to have resolved itself, but I now cannot make calls, the proximity sensor switches the phone off straight away when a call attempt is made. No call appears to connect either. Wondering if this is more than just a proximity sensor issue now.

Its been a prox sensor issue all along. If you mess around with that sensor enough (from the inside of the phone) you may get the position correct eventually. Its a huge pain. Sometimes even if you get it positioned just right and everything works, it may revert to doing the same thing in the coming weeks or months. Good luck.

Thanks iowabotech, i have a replacement sensor arriving early next week. The prox sensor worked ok to bring the screen on in daylight, but back to the bright light/torch use at night. I am actually getting my upgrade from EE early and have paid £28 inc delivery for the LG G4 Black Leather version. Arrives Monday, ill fix the G2 and keep it as a spare.
