Error Lord
Lurker
Sim card is currently in another phone offsite so when I try to fix the broken IMEI by putting the phone in diagnostic mode (##3424) I get "Emergency Calls Only" because there's no sim card inserted.
Verizon
LG G2 (VS980)
Stock Rom
Rooted
5.0.2
QPST 2.7 build 4.11
Device Manager: Displays as LGE Mobile for VZW USD Serial Port (COM3)
QPST: Displays as COM 4 - USB/QC Data Modem (LGE Mobile for VZW USB Modem VS98046********)
(I don't know why they're seeing it as two different)
Point me in the right direction, nothing I'm finding is getting this fixed. This Phone was a gift to my younger cousin.
Edit: Solved. If anyone in the future is unable to enable diagnostic mode on this model and you have root, you can install a terminal emulator on your phone and run the code:
su
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/lg_diag_cmd/diag_enable
Unplug your phone from the computer, replug, wait for debugging, and this will enable diagnostic mode, and from here you can continue using QPST and so on and so forth. It doesnt display anything visible on the screen but you will have be in diag.
- Is there any way to repair the IMEI with/without QPST without putting the phone in diagnostic mode with Dialer?
