Market Hijacked by GooglePlay

My Market app has disappeared. It appears to have been taken over by GooglePlay, without my knowing it. A window now appears asking me to accept or decline GooglePlay, but when I choose decline it ignores me and the window appears again.

How can I install Market again?

Has anyone else experienced this?

I think I can answer my own question.

I notice that now I have an app called Play Shop, which appears to function the same as the old Market. I guess that Google has taken over the android Market and substituted their own app.

...which is OK, except that nobody let me know this was happening on my own android computer.

That's scary.

Uh, Google owns the Market, so if they want to change its name, they can do it any time they want to. Also, updates to core apps like the market happen without us knowing. Its normal. Its on autoupdate by default.

Yup, it's now called Google Play. No point going back.

Root, and install the old if you don't like the new. I like 2.3.6.
