Root [MetroPCS] Stereo jack messing up music & podcast apps after root

I rooted my phone 4 days ago and ever since then Google play music has been pausing and skipping tracks seemingly randomly. I have determined in the last couple days that twisting the stereo cord is causing this problem. The first day or two it wasn't happening in my podcast app PocketCasts and I use both of them about the same amount. I use both of these apps in my car mostly. The vibrations and bumps of the road don't cause any pausing or skipping but when I pick the phone up or just twist the cord in the phone jack it happens a lot.

I thought Tasker might have been causing this because I had a profile for when I plugged in a stereo cord, but I uninstalled Tasker today and the same thing still happens. I haven't installed any ROMs yet I've only rooted with towelroot, I have SuperSU, and I have TWRP.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how I can fix it? or any way I might be able to find out what is causing it?

Are you charging it at the same time?

If I listen to Pandora and try to charge at the same time..... The phone causes some kind of crazy ground loop.....

The sound gets screechy... And Pandora will crash....

This is the only phone I've had that problem with.

Or.... Could be time for you to get a new cord .....

I've replaced mine several times to make sure that's not the problem... The car isn't exactly a loose wire friendly environment.....

Ya I get a ground loop too if I charge my phone in the car. But I haven'y charged my phone in the car for years. I have only used one cord for the last few months so I'll try another cord.

Hardware stereo jack might be messed up.it wouldn't be due to rooting a phone.I'll tell you that much

I figured it out today, it was the google voice search app. I finally flashed the DataOnSD ROMs and updated and reinstalled all my apps and after updating the google search app and trying to play music in my car it gave me audio instructions on using headphones with the phone. After telling me this about 4 or 5 times it stopped and I tried twisting the cord and shaking the phone and I couldn't get it to pause at all. So it was a problem that google fixed in their search app a while ago.

I forgot that one of the apps I removed updates for was Google search. What used to happen was the app would think I was trying to activate voice search through the stereo cord. But now neither of these happen.

TLDR: Problem solved, keep Google search updated.
