I have both link2sd and foldermount on but even with all those, I'm still unable to download apps like Modern Combat 5, GTA Chinatown Wars, etc. Free space on internal shows 580MB available and I'm unable to make any more space to put those big games on. Any advice on how to do it?

I did http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2285221 so it is kinda like what you posted up to step two... I'm not sure what I should do from there. I already have apps loaded on the ext4 partition so do I need to wipe the entire SD card again?

Yes you have to. Your app data is on the SD card so you can copy it and back it up. Wipe the card and follow this. http://androidforums.com/threads/sd-card-hack-to-increase-internal-memory.882907/

make sure you dont put an insane ammount in the partition.i did this and certain things stopped working in time.it only affects certain apps one being facebook breaking the sharing option and saving photos from facebook.using es downloader the downloader after awhile would fail too so its at own risk.as far as everything else it worked well.
