Root MikG No Unlock Screen After Reboot??

Excuse me for my noobness but I'm selling my evo 4g and I wanted to do a factory reset on my phone. Did it and now it's stuck on the wallpaper with the taskbar icons. What should I do? The previous people who replied to that said to flash the MikG rom but how do I do that if I can't get to my homepage? Please help!

Can you still get into recovery?
And what recovery do you have.?
 
If you want to wipe it, just make sure its on the SD card and reflash MikG..


The zip wipes your phone by default upon flashing it.


You can mount your SD card in recovery, so the phone doesnt need to be booted to do so

Well, pull battery, wait a few seconds, then reinstall battery.
While holding volume down button, press power button.
That will get you into bootloader screen where there is an option for recovery.
Select that and let us know what happens.
 
So I pressed the volume down and power button and pressed "recovery". Then, it led it to ClockworkModRecovery. What do I press now?

I can't reflash my ROM again because I cleared a lot of my stuff on my laptop so my backup isn't there.

one thing i would do is switch recoveries. amon ra 2.3 or smelkus are the two best recoveries for the og evo. but other then that not sure what you are asking. the more details you give us the better we can help you.
 
I'm trying to get back to the unlock screen but if its possible, I was also hoping you can help me delete this ROM after getting back to the unlock screen.

well you can mount the sd card via recovery. i'm not sure where it is found in clockwork mod as it has been a really long time since i used it. but once mounted you can download any rom and move it to the mounted sd card and then flash it thru recovery. but like i said i would switch recoveries.

do you have s-off or s-on?
 
Ok more details! If I tried to flash another install of MikG, wouldn't I have to mount the disk drive so I can flash it? If I'm stuck on the unlock screen like ndh777 was, how do I flash it if I can't have a flash drive? And ocnbrze, I want to take your suggestion and switch recoveries so I googled 'amon ra recoveries for HTC Evo 4g'; they had to put the file in the Evo's disk drive. But I can't do that because there's no control for me to put my phone into disk drive.

So at this moment, I'm trying to get back to my controls with the MikG ROM.

If you can help me, give me the instructions like you're telling a 5 year-old. Baby steps, link to another forum, YouTube videos, anything. Thanks!

ok great.....yes that is it. now you can move file over to the sd card without having to reboot into the phone.

and you can use this guide:

for instructions as to how to switch recoveries. just skip the root process and go to the after root section for info on how to switch recoveries as well as other info you should know as well.

once you have amon ra you can then do the same thing under ms-usb toggle to get access to the sd card and flash a rom.
 
It's an adapter that you can put your micro sd card into and then plug it into the usb port on your computer:)
