Root Missing Market Place

Ok I rooted my phone using unrevoked3 no problems. Created a backup of current ROM. Updated to gingerbread 2.3 no problems except I didnt like it. Tried to restore to pre Gingerbread ROM and I am now missing the marketplace. PLEASE HELP

Welcome to AF Eazy (no relation to the late Mr. Eazy E., right? :p). When you say *tried* to restore to the ROM you were running prior, did you restore a nandroid?...or flash the previous ROM you were running? Was the ROM you were running before AOSP?
 
I used the recovery option that is given after holding down the power button and the volume button. If I use any other ROM it is fine but if i use the one i created the back up of market place is gone

Odd. Is that the only app missing? What ROM is it that you're trying to restore?
 
yes that is the only missing one none of them are there i was going to redownload them like i did when i went to Gingerbread. I was wanting to go back to the factory default
 
Have you tried reflashing a stock rooted ROM? I'm sure if you did that the Market would reappear for you.
 
Such as? right now i switched to fresh, i believe, its the closest thing to the stock ROM (I actually like this one better).

You can find rooted stock ROM's here, just be sure to choose the appropriate ROM for your build (ie: 3.70xxxx). If you're looking for a stock ROM w/ bloatware removed and optimizations, I also recommend the following:

Sprint Lover's
Mikfroyo
Fresh (the one you're currently running)

You can find them here along w/ other ROM's to try.

I'm assuming you have Android Market intact and present now, correct?
 
Search your phone for the marketplace app. A lot of times it is hiding and a search will correct it. Also check your app settings to see if it's on the list. Then get Titanium Backup Pro. Backup all your apps so you can restore your glitched apps.
