Mobile Hotspot on the S3 (Verizon)

So I just got the S3 for Verizon and downloaded the SVTP Wifi hotspot. It works, but when I look up the data usage in settings, there is a category for "tethering" and all the tethering I have done through SVTP shows on there. Should that be a cause for concern? It seems like this program just uses the mobile hotspot feature built into the phone already, which I hope doesn't show up on Verizon's end.

Not sure what you mean by category. I looked at that screen and see total data usage with a graph and below it all the apps that used data. Nothing about tethering.

Log into your verizon account and look at your usage and look at the "connect/hotspot" tab. If it shows usage, then your fears are justified.

I'd switch over to using FoxFi. It's what everyone else is using and it works great. Just don't over do it.

Oh, and if your on the new share everything plan, then it doesn't matter. Verizon's hotspot is free with that plan.
