More Homescreen Panels!?!?

I am sick of dealing with only 3 panels on my DROID! I have searched around the internet and have found no results. I was told to use a home screen replacement, which I tried, and that did not work. Does anyone know of a simple app that has JUST the functionality to add more home screen panels to stock Android (2.0), and if not is there a developer out there that could make this?

Thanks,
RandomGuy

Theres lots of them, GDE, DXTop, openhome, panda home.

And tons of posts discussing which is better.

I second this! I'd PAY for an app that allows me to have 5, 7, or 9 homescreens. This is crazy that Google Experience devices only get 3. You can't use anything with only 3!

Please, someone make a simple app with only this functionality! I don't like how the home replacement apps change my icons and add a bunch of unnecessary stuff I don't want.

i have done this and is a good idea but i tend to forget about those app...but i really like the app ultimatefaves ..you can clean up your home screens alot with this app.

Wow!!! Just tried the free version (only allows for 2 carousels), and I am amazed. It's very smooth and stable. I'll try it out for a few more days, and if I still have no problems I'm definitely buying the full version (unlimited number of carousels).

Thanks for the lead tdog!

On one of my home screens I have folders set up:
GPS Tools (for things like Local, Google Maps, find my car etc)
Tools (for my keyring, barcode scanner, guitar tuner, etc)
Games (for my Emulators, DROID games etc)
That way they are easily sorted and easy to find, this I think is even better than having 9 different home screens personally.... although limiting people to only 3 is stupid.

Hey there, I'm a newbie so forgive me. I just bought my Droid Eris with apparently the older version OS. In any case I have 7 Home Panels... on mine and yes, still wanting more. When I say 7 I mean with a swipe of my fingers I can swipe 3 times to the left and 3 to the right plus the main dead center.

I didnt add any new apps to get it this way....wow 3 panels...I thought I was frustrated with 7.

It's the HTC Sense UI that gives you those screens, the Moto Droid doesn't have the option of running that UI.

Like bimm3rb0y I am also using Fresh Face. FF _is_ a theme app, like the others (it is made by the people who make aHome. They made it especially for T-Mobile US when they launched the MyTouch, but it is available to all) but you don't have to use all it's other features.

You can get it here: FreshFace v2.0.3 Application for Android | Tools

The only problem is, the Dev updated it to work ONLY for Android 1.6 and above, so if, like those of us in Canada, you are stuck on 1.5, you won't be able to find it in the MarketPlace, but you can try emailing the Dev.

You can use FF to add multiple screens, without having to bother with installing any themes, however, you should "save" your theme in FF in case anything happens (if you do install a theme, and decide you don't want it any more, you will have to set-up your previous layout all over again if you didn't save it).

There is also a widget called "More Icons". There is a free version and a paid version. (More Icons Widget v1.3.1 Application for Android | Productivity) or (More Icons Free Widget v1.3 Application for Android | Productivity) which allows you to pack 3 (free ver) or more regular icons into the space of one icon. I'm using it on my main home screen to put my dialer, contacts, and messaging icons all into one icon space, and I haven't had any trouble launching them. (You might have difficulty if you have BIG fingers).

I used FreshFace for about a day or two but because of all the force closes I had to switch back to the originial home... I may look into it again if they update it. For now i just make damn good use of my folders.

Weird. It has never force closed on me, but then I'm using the old version for Android 1.5 on an HTC Magic, so maybe that has something to do with it.
