i just got a used inspire, and i have some apks i'd like to move to the phone (they're on my computer now). do i need to root the phone to be able to do that?
If you mean you have a few APK's on your computer that you'd like to install on your phone, then no, you don't need root.
Copy and paste it onto your SD card, and put it onto your phone. Install it and you're done- you can delete the apk or keep it, the actual app is installed onto your phone, the apk is just the installer package.
