Help Mp3 unplayable

Hi I'm having trouble loading some songs on my Galaxy Ace Android.

I've had a Galaxy Ace for nearly a 1-2 years now. I've run across a problem with 10-25 songs that I have put onto my phone using Kies or simply copying them into the phone (media or a new folder) in My Computer. Whenever I try and play these specific songs I get this error in the built in media player "Sorry, this player does not support this type of audio file". I've tried different links from Google all with no success.

My phone is a Galaxy Ace
Model number: GT-S5830i
Android version: 2.3.6

The media players that I have tried to use on my phone are:
Winamp
Default media player
Boomboxoid
Meridian
Poweramp
Player Pro

None of these work. Sometimes the files do not show any length of the audio e.g. should be 2:05 length but instead it shows nothing. Sometimes the files will lose everything e.g. album and artists. I'm copying from a CD however it is a second hand CD. When these files show the length of the audio sometimes they play fine when I first put them onto the phone however a short while after this they all either do not play at all and I get the message or they play the first 2-5 seconds of the song before moving onto the next song in the list.

I have attempted a factory reset of my phone with no success to the problem. I have copied hundreds of songs from CD's to my phone with no problems except for these few songs. They are identical to the working songs in the properties e.g. mp3 format, bit rate between 200+kbps and 300+kbps. These songs work on my Windows 7 pc in both VLC player and Windows default media player.

They are definitely all mp3's, I have actually attempted a converting of some of these songs using VLC player to make them into an "Audio - MP3" in the profile (it auto selects RAW encapsulation, MP3 + 320kb/s bit rate + 2 channels + 44100 sample rate on the Audio codec). I have used a program to detect any WAV files which none were found (winamp and poweramp should be able to play WAV files anyway so this is not the case).

I have no clue as to what is making these specific songs bug out like this. screenshots of the songs properties before loading them on the phone via Kies shows a summary including: File Type: MP3
DRM: NonDRM
File Size: 4.57MB
Length: 02:21
Bit Rate: 271kbps
Sample Rate: 44kHz
Date Modified: 04/09/2013 20:34:40

However after the songs have been transfered onto the phone, USB connection disconnected and the phone being left for 5-10 minutes then USB connection reattached the kies properties of the songs show:

File Type: MP3
DRM: NonDRM
File Size: 4.57MB

So all the properties of the songs are gone and are now unplayable in both the android media players and windows pc media players. Anyone got any solutions to this? I'm willing to rebuy the music files online however I'd rather wait until I know for certain this is a problem with the song files before paying for the same songs and having the same problems (they are from a 2nd hand CD so maybe they are corrupted). Thanks.

I believe its a DRM problem. Could those files be downloaded from itunes? ou taken from DRM protected music files?

Thanks for the reply.
I don't think it's the DRM that is causing the problem. There was no DRM stated in the Kies properties when transfering the music over to my phone as stated by the DRM: NonDRM in the song summary on Kies. I also opened the songs in Windows default player and viewed the properties on the songs this way. In the Media Usage Rights section it states: "This file is not protected". So this leads me to believe there is no DRM on the songs at all.

Never used itunes before but just did a quick look and nothing regarding these songs on itunes. The songs I want to put onto my phone are japanese songs therefore are probably not going to show up on itunes in the UK or anywhere else.

I could be wrong but from the 2 sources that I have there seems to be no DRM whatsoever.

You could try to convert those files to another type, like wav, and then convert again to mp3.
Could you ask a friend to play those files in his phone, to see if its your phone issue?

Sorry for not replying sooner, i've just tried converting using VLC media player two music files to flac format and back to mp3 format, NOT mp3 (mp4) format. Copied both formats (flac and mp3) of both songs over, flac doesn't appear so I guess it isnt supported. As for the converted mp3 files they worked until i reset my phone as a test. When i turned my phone back on, BANG same error. I reset it to test it as the error occurs after a while anyway even if I don't reset my phone.

I have also given the files to a freind and put them on his HTC One. He had no problems with the files whatsoever. He suggested it was my phone corrupting the files, a quick look online and I am unsure if it could be my phone or SD card at fault or both. I am going to attempt a formatting of my SD card and factory reset of my phone (again) at the end of the week. Hopefully this stops the files becoming corrupted.

P.S. thanks for the quick response qashqool.

Ok... just formatted my SD card, reset my phone to factory settings. Now I get an error message at the top. Damaged SD card: SD card damaged. You may have to reformat it. I choose to format it, wait for it to finish and nothing. Same error message even after restarting my phone. Any thoughts?

Other forums say use an SD card adapter on the computer with the command prompt for something. Another says try the SD card in another phone - format in the new phone then put back into my phone. Both options are not available to me for at least a few days, but has anyone had this problem before? and fixed it using either of these options? or a different option?

I'm starting to get annoyed and debating whether to change to one of the new Firefox OS phones in the future.

The others are only suggesting you to try formatting the card through different means so as to rule out weather its a phone problem or the card's. Please don't complain without trying first.
If the card really is damaged then just get a new one and your problem will be solved, but if its a phone problem then visit the service centre, clearly resetting has not helped and the card works fine in other devices so its probably a hardware fault and needs repairs.

Sorry if I sounded biased or whatever, i'm just a little annoyed. At the same time i'm not gonna attempt buying another SD card since it is a 64Gb card. Paying for a new one would set me back abit. Gonna ask friends and family if anyone has a card reader or phone I can use for a day to check the SD card.

Finally got a USB card reader 2 days ago. Plugged my MicroSD into the reader. Formatted the card using SDFormatter, full format. Tried the card again and no success. MicroSD card is damaged and with no receipt or idea what manufacturer it is from (got it as a gift) i've had to buy a new MicroSD 16gb card. I'm going to find out if the problem is from the phone or just the card dying on me in the next few weeks/months depending on if this new card does the same.

I hope it was just the card dying on me by chance, and not the phone breaking it.
