Root MTU Issues

Now i know there was a post a while ago on this, but its lost somewhere down there so I'm posting this. I remember seeing that the MTU on our phone is close, but lower than 1500. I believe it was 1350-1450. Is there anyway to raise it to 1500 or above. I remember a flashable fix, but it never worked. Thanks guys.

I thought it was actually 1492. That's what I need to set my netbook to in order to connect to the phone when using Barnacle Tether. No other MTU setting worked for me.

I'd be interested in knowing if there's a way to change the MTU since there was no way I could get my Kobo reader to connect to the tether for emergencies. I'm not sure changing it to 1500 though would actually make it work.

Well one of the main reasons i was thinking 1500 was because the minimum for some things to work are 1500 and some phones work with those because their mtu is above 1500. One thing i can think of is Xbox Live requires at least 1500 to work right

Just to add to this, Ive found that when I am starting up Barnacle Wifi Tether its throws up an error about it not being able to set the mtu. If anybody needs a pic of it i can post it
