Help Multi screen options

I find that I tend to use the multi screen now and again. However, is there any way to change what's in the list. It says Edit but it doesn't let me do anything. Cheers.

You either have to have root, or modify the apps in order to have more apps in multiview.

Explain this for me if possible. As of now I am non rooted (that will change later), but how to modify the apps? The biggest one that I would want to change is the default browser to my boat borwser.
