Music apk

I use shuttle music and pocket casts for my audio on my gs6 edge. When I connect my headset or to the Bluetooth in my car the Samsung stock music player always starts instead of one of these apps. If I am listening to a podcast and get a phone call when the call ends it auto plays to the Samsung app too.

Is there any way to deactivate this or remove the apk without rooting?

Thanks

I might be misunderstanding the question but can't you just disable the stock music app in settings>app manager? My apologies if I gave you a useless answer.

Hi @christenskg :)

I've moved your thread into the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge subforum as I suspect your problem relates to how Samsung handles setting Default Apps. Hopefully a fellow Samsung user will be able to help you out here.

In the meantime, if you look at the Samsung Music app under Settings > Manage applications, does it have an option to Clear Defaults?

Good luck! :D

I'm not sure this will work and haven't tried it, but offering as an idea/suggestion.

It's possible that Samsung's "Touchwiz Home" is what forces the default app association. If this is the case, you could disassociate the Podcast Player from Samsung's Media Player only by installing another Home Screen Replacement app such as Nova Launcher and then making it the default Home Screen:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en

Then go back into these settings and see if you can make the adjustment.

If you still can't make the adjustment when using a Home Screen Replacement app, try downloading default app manager app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appiator.defaultappmanager&hl=en

There is also a pro version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appiator.dampro&hl=en

The app description lists this feature:
* Wide range of categories consists of Audio, Audio Streaming, Browser, Email, Home Launcher,
Messaging, PDF files, Phone Dialer, Video and Video Streaming

But again, I haven't tried this for myself!
