Help Music won't play through headphones

About a month ago I was on a plane listening to music on my Galaxy Note 5. There was an announcement on the plane's PA and I couldn't hear it very well so I took my headphones out of my phone and plugged them into the plane's audio jack to hear the announcement. When it was over, I unplugged my headphones and put them back into my phone to listen to music again but no sound would come out. The music was definitely playing because the time counter thing was moving but there was no audio. I took the headphones out and the music played through the phone's speaker just fine. I plugged them back in, same problem. I maxed out the volume, looked through all of my settings, restarted my phone, etc but nothing would work. It's definitely not the headphones that are the problem because I played music through my friend's phone and they worked just fine. When I tried her pair on my phone, no audio at all. When I got back home I looked up what the problem could be but no one had my exact issue. Some people recommended downloading the Soundabout app (which I did) but it didn't do anything :/

I honestly have no idea what to do/what it could be. Anyone have any suggestions?

Any help is appreciated
Thanks :)

Sounds to me you could have a faulty input jack port, is your phone still under guarantee?

I agree with 'pm5544', it does seem like there is a problem with the audio port on your phone.

My guess is that the wires connecting the audio port the CPU have come loose or gone bad.

I had a similar problem once with a portable tape player a long time ago.

The problem is fixable, and as 'pm5544' mentioned, if the phone is still under warranty, then the manufacturer should be able to fix the problem at no cost to you.

The only 'work-around' that I can think of would be for you to purchase Bluetooth Headphones.
