My Browser Died, Please Help

So I have a rooted x10 with 2.1 OS. I did this just a few weeks ago. I've loved my phone's capability since I took control and updated. I like 2.1, except for the web browser didn't show the pages as well as 1.6 and was always zoomed out, didn't show pics right, and was just not as good. So I decided to try out a couple of different browsers and so I downloaded both Opera Mini and Dolphin HD. I was gonna try them both out to see which one a liked compared to stalk. That's when disaster struck. My phone started to force close everything as the normal browser wouldn't work anymore. I was finally able to pull up my settings and go to manage apps and delete the two. This kept most apps from force closing when I opened them. But still my web browser says "The application Browser has stopped unexpectedly," and will not open. To make matters worse, when I click on the Android Market, it not only force closes, but it restarts my whole phone. Please help! I LOVED my phone until this, but I'm not sure I can go through setting it all up again. That would be so bad. Please help! I'll return the favor.

Try this -

1. Open Settings.
2. Select Applications.
3. Select Manage Applications.
4. Select Market (You may have to press Menu > Filter > All to see it)
5. Select Clear cache.
6. Back out of the screen and select Download Manager.
7. Select Clear data.
8. Also clear data for Google Apps, Google Talk, and Checkin Service.
See if downloading from the Android Market works now.

If that doesn't work, I highly suggest you reinstall.

I don't use the default browser of dolphin. SkyFire is the way to go. It helps convert video to a compatible format too. So some sports sites, if you try and view a video it says it requires flash or some other type on pluggin, but it is auto converted by Skyfire.

Maybe download an Task Manager to see if other apps are running in the background.

Or delete a bunch of the useless apps you have loaded....or any recent app you loaded that might have caused this....

Hopefully that works and you don't have to reflash. But since you are rooted...it's not too tough.

Where is download manager at? And do I select the google apps individually?

I actually copied and pasted that from someone else's post. And yes, select each google app individually....not that it is really going to matter.

I do not use the regular google Market because I find it is too packed with junk. I use AppBrain which is a Market manager with a better search and filters out a lot of junk....and allows me to update and uninstall apps all on the same page....in AppBrain.

If your Market is failing and crashing, you need to try and clean it....clear that cached data...see if it fixes it.

Well, sad to say, but that did not fix the problem. Android Market and the normal web browser are force closing and restarting my phone still. I really didn't want to have to reflash because I have spent so much time over the last several days tweaking my phone to get everything exactly as I wanted it.

Bummer...well, I guess don't use the browser or the market....don't think that will last though....no market=no updates either.

Hopefully you can find a way to get it working....or find out what you did to mess it up.

Maybe just check your list of running applications and if there is anything that is running that doesn't need to be, force close it.
