Help Need help understanding wall paper resolutions.

Check your launcher and make sure you don't have scrolling off. (Also make sure the app you used to change the file into wallpaper, if you used one, didn't turn it off.

I've had similar image size issues with various Android devices and screen resolutions.

I think you need a 1440x1280 image to make the correct size wallpaper on the GNex.

The stock Android wallpaper cropper displays a dotted outline of the full portrait and landscape canvas over the top of the image, i.e. one side of the dotted outline to the other represents what is displayed when scrolling from one side all the way to the other. The solid outline represents the full image size for a wallpaper.

When you first open the stock wallpaper cropper, the portrait rectangle that is dead centre represents your home screen, which is the middle screen in a stock Android screen setup.

I've attached two images to illustrate what the stock wallpaper cropper looks like when it first opens. Iron Man is 1920x1080 and the Android is 1440x1280 to show the affects of using the cropper with an unoptimised and optimised image size respectively. Note how the cropper's main outline doesn't surround all of the Iron Man image, but does on the Android one.
