Help need help with samsung galaxy s 5.0

What I need to know is how to get this wee tab to connect via usb to my laptop as a mass storage device, I need to run a photo recovery program on the internal memory. thanks in advance for any help or if any advice on other ways to do this :)

Welcome to forums Sarah! I'm assuming you have a galaxy player 5.0. Of I'm wrong just let me know and I'll move it to the correct section.

I hoping one of your fellow galaxy player owners can chime in. But have you tried using Samsung kies that's what I use to connect my galaxy tab not site of its the same for galaxy players.

You don't need Kies. In fact, so far, I've refused to install it. Just connect your Galaxy Player to your computer using the USB cable. Bring down the notification "shade" and tap the item that shows you have a USB connection and you will see a button you can tap to connect as USB storage. (I can't get exact prompts as I am at work-- not USB connections allowed)

I had a heck of a time trying to get Kies or even my USB connection to work. I only needed Kies so that I could update the Firmware to 2.3.5.

What I found though is a menu option that hopefully should work for you.

Go to the Setting Application. Look under Wireless and network -> USB Settings and you should see 3 options there - Samsung Kies, Media Player, Mass Storage. I set mine to Mass Storage and whenever I connect to a USB cable, it prompts me that it is USB Connected and allows me to select to "Connect storage to PC". Press that and after a few seconds, you should be able to see both the SD Card (internal memory) and the External SD Card (your physical card if you have one).

Hope that helps...
