Help New android update???

I noticed this afternoon that I was unable to open my yahoo app. It stated "Unfortunately. Y!mail has stopped." Then it gave the option to report or just hit ok. This went on all afternoon. So I rebooted my phone and when it restarted it said:

"Android is upgrading....optimizing app __ of 7. After all 7 have supposedly optimized, it then says "starting apps". After that it boots up. Is there a new upgrade??

But wait that's not all of it, after booting up, with any app I try to open it says ""Unfortunately. (Name of app) has stopped" I have no idea what the problem is.

I have rebooted my phone a couple of times and the results are the same each time.

Is anyone else having this issue or have any ideas as to what the problem is?

Have you tried clearing your dalvik cache?

Just did that and upon reboot, as we speak, it says "Android is upgrading....optimizing app ___ of 105. Before it said it was optimizing 7 apps, now it says 105....I have no idea what it is really doing?!?!? Any ideas?

Probably wouldn't hurt. I reformat mine every 3 months or so. And it's also the same card I used in my Prevail :D

That's still weird though (to me at least) as that was what it's been saying all along, before I even entered recovery and cleared the dalvik cache. Both of these "symptoms" (the android upgrading and apps stopping) started at the same time, so they must be related. But I haven't figured it out yet.
