does the ally charge while in recovery?

So, now the question is: does it charge faster?

Well since no apps are running, cpu is steady, brightness is normal... I would assume yes

i had come up with the idea that we could copy the recovery IMG and then make special mode for the Ally to boot into so that it would only charge with no other option except reboot and power off.
