I just got an HTC EVO Design on FreedomPop, and I'm having a glitchy display problem with Google Maps, especially when in navigation mode. I'm looking to see if my phone is bad, or if all HTC Evo Design's have this problem.
I have FreedomPop as well and it does the same thing. If I exit out of maps and restart the map app it will usually work, until I get an incoming notification
I was able to work-around the video issues by unintalling the Google Maps updates that were installed from the Play Store. The base version of Google Maps that comes pre-installed on the FreedomPop version of this phone does not appear to have these issues.
CORRECTION: The new Google doesn't work with the Blue Kingdom ROM either. I had to revert to the version of Google Maps installed on the FreedomPop ROM by uninstalling updates.
Original post:
Installing the Blue Kingdom ROM seems to have helped. It now works, even with the latest versions of Google Maps.
The docs for the ROM indicate ot includes a newer version of the Adreno 205 GPU driver.
