Help new touchpad 7

Hi all,
I'm very new to tablets, only wanted one to keep up with emails when away from home, not even sure I'm on the right forum so I apologise if I'm not but could really do with some help.
Just bought (ebay!) a cnm touchpad 7, has Android 4 o.s..
No sound at all, I hoped it would be the headphone socket or maybe muted but its not. Strange thing is I do get sound if I have audio track playing and then wait for the thing to sleep, or turn it to sleep, then audio works fine.
Everthing else is working great and I've tried reset, factory reset and I don't know what else!
I would very much appreciate any ideas.
Chris

Hello and welcome to the android forums. Now let me get this straight you brought a used tablet from eBay and discovered that the sound is not working for you. But this works when you plug a headset into the device .now does this work when you unplugged the headset or still no sounds..
My first thing would be to perform a factory reset and see if that works if not I would return to the owner and get a refund

Thanks for your reply.
I'm getting no sound at all, headset or not. Only get sound if I leave a music track playing and then switch to "sleep", then I can hear it fine. I've tried a factory reset several times, no help. No point in returning it, it was cheap and listed as no sound anyway.
I don't really need the sound, only wanted it for email, which works fine. Just annoying to not be able to get it working right.

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the tablet .
Also what's the tablet full make and model which is does this tablet have .

I think that would be 20-30 USD if correct the way sales was going on you could have gotten a new tablet for 29.00. But we here to fix your problem now you need this app

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.max.headset_fix

If this app Dont work its a hardware problem. You may look into checking to see if its up to date

Thanks for your suggestion. I've just tried the app but it has had no result.
As you can see the thing was very cheap so maybe time to give up!
It works fine for my original use of emails, just annoying when you can't get something to work fully.
I still don't understand how the b---dy sound can come on when I turn the screen off! (and when that happens I can use a headset as you would expect it to)
Beats me!
Chris
