Help Nexus 7 (2012) random reboots

Hello,

I am encountering what seems to be a common problem for Nexus 7 (2012) users where my tablet reboots at random. It then sticks on the reboot screen and I have to enter recovery mode, power down and boot up again manually.

I have wiped the cache twice to no effect, and subsequently restored factory settings. While this worked for a day or so the reboots have started again. Does anyone have any thoughts about further fixes or is it simply a hardware fault?

It's running KitKat 4.4.4 and is around six months old. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My N7 started this behavior a few days before the unit crashed (while giving a crackling buzz from the speakers) & then would not boot past the Google logo. None of the various & numerous fixes had any effect. After a couple months of not having it I took the plunge & purchased a used working motherboard slapped it in & now its back in business :) I'm hoping yours won't meet the same fate but just in case that is a fix that works.

Similar problem here. My Nexus 7 (2012) wifi is one of those that worked great under 5.0 after a reset. Then today, out of nowhere, it shut down on me, rebooted and then after the four balls stopped twirling, I got a new, white, android screen that I have never seen before, saying simply “android” and then the tablet reboots over and over again.I had to push the start and volume down buttons just to be able to turn the tablet off. I’m wondering if the tablet updated to 5.01 or 5.02 on its own. I have auto updates on wifi but I’ve have always had to something affirmative to get a system update. I can’t even get into the tablet long enough to do another reset before it starts rebooting.

Thanks in advance!
