Nexus 7 2012 wont turn on

i've had my nexus 7 2012 for about 2 years now, and now the device won't power on. I've tried almost everything(except new battery). I'm just wondering if there is anything more i can do before I resort to buying a new tablet. Oh and my computer recognizes the device as "unknown device".

New battery. Not sure in your country, but here in mine I can just bring it to an ASUS shop in a mall and have them replace the battery for a price.

If course that's if the battery is the problem.

Hi before changing the battery try using another charger with the supplied usb cable, I often find that just swapping the charge with a new charge cycle or ratio will kick start it. Plug it in for a few hours, try to turn it on, then plug the original one back in and leave it over night. Often it springs back into life. If not buy a 2nd user battery or new.
