Help Nexus 9 build quality discussion

I noticed last night before bed that there is a considerable bit of wiggle room when I plug the stock micro USB into the N9. I'm used to a solid Click on devices when the micro USB is mated to the charging port. This is the third time its been plugged up being I got it new Thursday evening. Anybody else got a case of the "wiggles"??

ASSuming your product is new and not second hand, try a different USB cable.

if the issue persists,, your port is defective and an RMA should be activated.

I'm glad I took pic's of the boxes unbroken seal before I opened the thing...
Yet another lesson learned from my experience with the 2012 N7 ;)

Edit to add, Even though it moves a considerable amount it does not appear to break charge. I'll keep an eye on it. I may call HTC & use one of the provided RMA stickers in the paperwork if it does start acting up.

Yeah, I didn't believe its a one off occurrence. Makes the port just that much more susceptible to damage if it gets a nice little wack by accident while the micro USB is plugged in :(
Thanks for the input brosko ;)

I have a Nexus 7 2nd gen that I love but I'm reading a lot of PDFs and found it hard on the N7, so I bought a N9 16gb white. It just arrived 10 minutes ago (from bestbuy.com).

I knew there were initial build quality issues on the N9 and I'd heard people complain about the volume buttons. Also read that people thought the white had better build quality than the black.

The resistance between the up and down volume rocket is noticeably different, the up button goes almost into the case before it activates making it considerably harder to operate the up button, you can feel the slack in the up direction.

Is this "normal" for a 2015 production model or should I be returning it for replacement. I can't say I'm impressed.

Thanks

I called HTC, gave them the serial# in the hopes they could tell me when this was produced. Utterly useless, they couldn't give a build date, said they had never heard of issues with the volume buttons (really?) and directed me to best buy.

It's a mass produced item so there will be quality issues, so short answer is yes it's to be expected.

If you don't like the feel of these buttons, return/exchange it.
