No wonder the screen is so flimsy...

i guess a fix is not going to come by anytime soon for the flimsy screen. :-) btw im going to post the HTC confidential service manual for the G1 in the tips and tricks section. Look out for it :-P

I don't get it.

I know it's a picture of the back of the screen casing, and I know those circles are around the two screws, but beyond that I don't get it. How does this illustrate the alleged flimsiness of the screen?

BTW, my screen is pretty solid.

It just shows that there's only 1 connection point for the screen, the bottom portion (or top, depending on how you look at it) doesn't connect to the body at all.

Ding ding ding ding! Exactly! It just ....hangs there. But at least we know that it wont break apart, looks sturdy to me.I guess it would have been cool to have a hinge assistant holding it in the middle.

Right but you're ignoring the little swoop channel which is almost to the edge. Thus the screen connects int two places, the "bottom" and about 1/4 from the "top".

This isn't exactly a surprise, I figured this out on the first day, all you have to do look at the back of the phone when it's open.

Regardless, mine feels pretty solid.

What it needs is a seccong guide " ) " on the other side for 2 points of contact. (yeah its pretty obvious it does).

Also the guide is a little ray a sunshine, thanks!
