So I thought I'd give one of these custom ROMs try. Serendipity looked nice, and I had already rooted my phone so I thought, why not?
I tried following this guide:

It went smoothly up until step 18. I can't get my device back into download mode, or recovery mode. None of the button combos worked, I even tried the jig, but that didn't work either. I'm stuck on some version of gingerbread right now and getting some weird behavior but it's usable. At this point I just want to go back to stock, but if someone can tell me how to proceed I'd like to give it a shot.
My about phone info looks like this:
Model: GT-I9000
Firmware: 2.3.3
Baseband: I9000XXJVK
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVB-CLL118186
root@DELL102#2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XWJVB
If anyone one can help me get back to a good working Captivate you'll be my hero for the day.
