Help Note 4 will not focus camera

AyJay719

When opening the camera app, the device will not focus for sometimes up to minutes and then it will work fine. It only happens on the rear facing camera.

I have tried to remove/disable 3rd party apps that could be interfering. I have cleared data in the camera app. And, I have tried safe mode to see if it is from a 3rd party app that I did not think of.

The lens is clean and there is no protective case on the device.

Any ideas?

I would power it off, remove the battery, let it set a minute, and then power it backup doing the 3 finger power up and catch it at the root menu, select Clear Cache Partition.

Restart it and see if all is okay now.

IIRC, it is Home Button, volume down, Power Button ??

maybe volume up? but IIRC it is volume down.

I forgot, I tried clearing the cache partition, as well.

Volume up + home, then power button until the device vibrates and release just the power button.

I just figured out that if you shake the device then it will go in to focus. To me, this points to an actual hardware problem that requires a repair to the camera sensor.

Let me know if I am wrong and if someone has found a more exact cause.
