notifacation alerts help

New GS3 user and I cannot hear the alert sounds they offer when in my pocket and want to add a few louder new ones. I am coming from a HTC thunderbolt that woke you up and kept reminding you about a new email to a faint sound with no reminder at all. I missed a email and I had the phone in my hand today when I was outside and a car drove past they are so quite. I have the vol turned up also

Is it possible to import the new sounds ? Where would I import them to and how since you cannot access anything via a usb cable. I have a 32gb sd card installed.

Never mind I figured it out. Just did a bit of googling and found the way to unlock the folders to drop the sound into via the usb cable and wala the sounds I want for emails and text messages.
