Root O/C Corrupted Phone Process

I O/C'd my device for the first time yesterday to Smartass/1300max using SetCPU. Phone did fine all day, no problems. But this morning I missed a day of work because the damn phone process kept force closing. I ended up having to restore to an earlier nandroid to get my phone to even work. The only thing I did different yesterday was O/C. So is anyone else having problems like this with overclocking?

1300 is the max and will not work on every phone. You should test stability on 1100 and 1200 if possible for a few days. always good to make a gradual OC

Well, the issue is because you can't really control all the physical properties of the chip, that's why manufacturers end up "clocking" the chips at a particular frequency that's guaranteed to work across the board for all devices of the same caliber. But material and physical alterations in the assembly line causes variances which get exploited by overclocking. Plus of course, some manufacturers are known to be a little too safe in underclocking devices...

Actually, might not have to do with the overclocking at all... I just realized when I switch my phone to LTE only mode through **583385##, it shuts down all incoming texts and phone calls, at least for me. I had used LTE only before, but I always switched it to cdma only or global after i was done using it. The other night I got too drunk and forgot, whoops. so when i awoke, it didn't even occur to me that I was on LTE only mode. OOPS

Yeah... It's been discussed long before.
Putting your phone through LTE only mode is not a good idea, since it kills telephony connectivity.
When you're in global mode, it will give you 4g if it's available anyways, so the LTE only mode is not really needed... Unless the signal is very very weak...
But yeah,I only cycle my phone between global and cdma only modes.

I wish I would have seen those threads... oh well, now I know! Thanks for the input tiede. i even hit the thanks button ;)
