I for one am getting the folio case. It's on order from amazon.

EDIT:

received an email about the HTC folio case ordered from Amazon.

Initially I ordered it as it was in stock then the day of, it showed OOS.

Amazon rep stated it was because they ran out of stock as orders were getting fulfilled.

however, last night i again reached out to find an update on this case and received this:

Hello,

We're sorry for the delay in sending your order.

I've checked this item with our inventory department and found that it failed the quality tests and hence the ship date has been delayed by the manufacturers.

Moreover, this product is not available in any other retail channel as everyone is impacted by the product quality issues.

However, I can assure you that we will certainly ship out your order once we receive this item from manufacturers. I'm sorry we are unable to be more precise about the availability of this item. Once your order is shipped we will send you an email notification.

they compensated me a gift card code and I already had free overnight ship from the initial inquiry as to why they suddenly went OOS.

I should be receiving my tablet towards the end of this week.

Have any of you ordered cases for your N9 yet?

Good ones? Bad ones to stay away from? I noticed some on Amazon that had to cover front speakers...

I currently have the official HTC folio case with keyboard and it's marvellous! I also have a Microsoft sculpt mouse connected as well so this setup is just super cool.

the case was worth the wait.

Seems like that would make the tablet very bulky. A inconvenient if just surfing web or reading. Tho great for when I need typing. Or does the keyboard remove as well?

Anyone else try any?

I don't want to remove the tablet. I would want to remove the keyboard.

So if the tablet is magnet to keyboard folio, I would still need a case for everyday use of tablet. That is what I'm looking for it seems.

The purpose of the folio keyboard case is for the keyboard and the ability to cover the screen when not in use.

There are separate keyboards you can purchase as well as a cover and that way you have the same thing as this setup but they are separates.

I agree and in a setup like yours, with mouse, etc, I think it would be great.

For me, I use my tablet to read in bed, couch, travel with me, etc. I currently have an N7 with small case. I flap the cover to the back and goto reading. That would not be reasonable with a keyboard case for me.

Is this the only case people have used? feels like the N10 issue with no accessories. Certainly, everyone with the N9 is not using it with no case are they???

yes this folio case is designed for people who want a keyboard and case in one. there are lots of cases for the nexus 9 avail on amazon right now.

the moku case on amazon is one of the most liked. goog has a "magic case" but its still is not released, but the moku is one of the better ones if you only want a case.

I bought a case from Amazon that serves as an okay option to the $130 HTC Keyboard Folio. The keys are a little small and I find that there times when my hands get fatigued and there are a lot of mistyped words due to the closeness of the keys. But I am new to pad keyboards so my proficiency may not be the best. I usually find that the longer my typing sessions lasts, the better I get at typing. I like that the keyboard is magnetically attached and can be removed to turn the case into a cover. I also like that this case actually holds the tablet and not just attaches to it. My only suggestion for this cover is that they trim back the holders by a few millimeters to better facilitate the touch points at the top and bottom of the screen while in landscape mode.

The Bear Motion Case from Amazon. I got mine for $24 but I see that they are now running $29.

I got the following case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PFIJW6U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is the travel sleeve I purchased:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PTINQ7W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Screen protector:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LH5C8I4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The case is a rubberized soft case that fits somewhat snug. The only issue I have with the case is it does not protect the camera very well. The camera still sticks out just a bit from the case.

The sleeve is huge. I ordered it without looking at the dimensions. At 11.5 inches long one could fit a 10 inch tablet in this thing. For the travel sleeve I will wait for more options.

The screen protector fits just right. My only gripe is the amount of finger prints this things collects is enormous. If you like every finger print showing up this is the screen protector for you.

My mother got a Nexus 9 with the keyboard case that Google sells on the play store. I have a question with it. When she charges it she is using the same plug/cord that she uses for the tablet. After charging for 24 hours I don't see it as a device to connect to. I see what looks like an LED light on the opposite side of the USB port and it never turns on. Am I missing something or does she have a dud?

there are instructions in the box. you pair the keyboard and table by placing the tablet on the top part of the keyboard.

I saw that but it isn't working, hence my post. Do you know, is that LED supposed to light-up when charging? What is the round reset-looking button on the side?

yes the led lamp is on when charging (red) and ou when its done.

try different US cables. the one that ships with the htc nex 9 is quite flimsy and will not pass a lot of voltage due to its thin build. others across the internet have been complaining about the thin usb (which is the same as the cables that ship with htc phones).

if still having issues, RMA that sucker whilst under the grace period.

Thanks for the info. What is that reset button looking thing beside the LED?

So, I bought the nexus 9 folio keyboard. However, now wnever I want to use the tablet's built in, on screen keyboard, it will not show up. This is very frustrating and I cant seem to fix the issue. Does anyone know what is causing this?

lower right of screen you should see a keyboard icon. tap that and you can select which keyboard you want to use.

you should see an "A" icon top left. also pull down the notification drawer and you should see this info.

be sure and check your keyboard settings screen and see what keyboards you have ticked.

I don't see the keyboard icon or A icon... I only have the nexus compact keyboard and google keyboard selected. Now I can only get it to where both onscreen keyboard shows while I am using the nexus folio keyboad. It wont simultaneously switch between the two when I want to just use the onscreen keyboard. If this makes any sense...
It's pretty much either I use the nexus keyboard 24/7 or I have both the onscreen keyboard and nexus keyboard dislaying at the same time. I can't get the keyboards to switch between the two.

perhaps you don't have all of the keyboards you want to use ticked in the keyboard settings page.

I'm able to tap the icon at bottom right and toggle any keyboard at will . same with the icon up top .

OK, so I held in the button that I call a reset button and it caused the LED to flash blue. This enabled me to sync to the tablet via Bluetooth. However, I still do not see an LED indication that the keyboard is charging. Maybe this means it came fully charged from the factor?

doubtful it came fully charged, but the battery is a tiny thing and it doesn't take long to charge.

if the keyboard is working regardless if you see a charge led or no, then you know the keyboards is working.

however, if you plug in different USB cables and you are certain the charge port the USB cable is getting its power from is reliable, AND no red led lamp lights up, could be a faulty led or the charge port could be faulty.

regardless bro, if you feel in any way it's not working as the instructions state , return it for another. don't sweat it.

I just added a few different keyboard settings (and I can switch between these outputs), however, it will not allow me to switch between the nexus 9 folio keyboard and the android keyboard (onscreen). So, I still cannot use the non-landscape mode to type at all :(.
edit: So i added other layouts and I have the keyboard icon, but it does not fix the issue of having the onscreen keyboard, while I am typing with the nexus folio keyboard. Does this part make sense? it looks exactly like the picture on the first page, with the onscreen keyboard and the nexus folio keyboard connected to the nexus device.

if you are talking about the photo i posted in this thread? that keyboard in question is swiftkey. when i type the keyboard reduces to one line at the bottom (predictions) i can hit the icon and bring it up full as you see.

i did nothing special. i dont use the nexus keyboard so maybe its juts set up to work that way with an external keyboard...

Yeah, I am assuming that with the external keyboard, you cannot switch between different keyboards at the same time. Thank you for your help and advice tho, in the process, I did learn a few things about my keyboard. lol
