Help Phone problems

Hi,
I've had my galaxy ace for about 4 years and it's started doing strange things! Screen freezes, keyboard does not respond when texting, turns itself off and sometimes is very slow and ends up not responding at all when using apps. Has anyone else had the same problems? I was putting it down to the age of the phone, maybe the battery needs replacing? I would like to try and sort it out as I really like the phone! Can anyone help.

What I would start with Steve is,Do a factory reset and see if it improves.And if it don't speed back up and fix the slow issue,Then yes you could maybe chalk it up to age.
But try a reset first.
