Help Phone will not turn on

My HTC Evo Design will not turn on or connect to my computer as an external device. I have tried removing the battery and the phone has been charging for hours. Any ideas what to do before I take it in for repair?

Hi RSerrao and welcome to Android Forums. Here are a few things you might try. Make certain that your usb cable is functional. With a failure to charge or communicate it is suspect. It's also possible that your charger died and there isn't enough battery left to power the phone. The battery too could be dead and not able to accept a charge. I would eliminate these possibilities prior to suspecting the phone. Especially if it was functional one charge and then nada. Best of luck to you and I hope you enjoy these forums.
