Root Photon Super Laggy After Recent Software Update

I was part of a beta software test recently. Not sure if my lag issues are from the update or if they happened around the same time. My phone was rooted but the root was broken when the software was pushed to my phone. The phone is so laggy now that it is nearly unusable. I'm wondering if there are crumbs left over in the system somewhere that I need to remove. I don't remember which root method I used but it wasn't a one-step one. I really only rooted so that I could use the phone to tether/hotspot. Now that I have FoxFi I don't really need to but will if that will fix my issues. Any thoughts? I've removed nearly every 3rd party app I had in case that was the issue but haven't had any improvements. I still have my titanium backup folder on the phone...could that be an issue? Could I have moved my apps to the SD card and would that cause it to be this slow? By slow I mean, for example, a text will come in and the notification tone won't sound for 5 seconds after it is downloaded. EVERYTHING on the phone is crazy slow now. Thanks for your help.

By beta test are you talking about the 2.3.5 soak test? If so, I already see problems. The 2.3.5 soak required that you be on 198_6, locked and unrooted. Rooting alters files in the the phone and the soak test was an update (patched and added files) not a full upgrade (system wipe and full install).

Backup your internal storage and SDCard and try doing a factory reset (settings/privacy/factory data reset) selecting the wipe internal and SDCard options. If this does not work, try rooting and flashing a locked ROM and see if that works. If either of these options do not work then you are unfortunately stuck as there is no way to downgrade to 198_6 or unlock to flash an unlocked ROM.

Thanks for the info! That fixed the issue. Had a heck of a time backing everything up and reinstalling...nothing seemed to work as promised but got it done with a little elbow grease. Thanks again for your help. Keep up the awesome work!
