I just switched from iphone to android. On iphone it was easy -- output audio device could be selected with one button from within the audio player or the phone app. I can't find anything similar in Android. Galaxy S 4G rooted 2.3.6. I have a Bluetooth speakerphone in my car, and I also have a 3.5mm aux line into to my stereo system. So I can listen to music while I drive. But when I enable bluetooth, it not only uses it for phone calls, it also keeps playing my audio through the little bluetooth device. I've tried plugging and unplugging the 3.5mm cable (that worked on the iphone to tell it to start using that as the default audio out) but it doesn't matter, once it's started playing audio through my BT, I have to disable BT to get it back through my stereo. So when a phone call comes in I either frantically pull the cable, enable bluetooth, and hope I can answer the call in time, or just say **** it, don't use my BT at all, and talk to the person illegally holding the phone to my ear with my shoulder, or use speakerphone. The $80 BT device goes unused.
When I turn on bluetooth it says "bluetooth enable for phone and media" making me think there is a place where I can change that. I can't find it though.
To summarize: I want phone to use BT, I want any media player to use headphone jack. How?
