Just got my mom, wife and I Evo 4G's as our first phones w/Sprint. I need some desktop cradles for them and am very particular with my needs. Been doing some searching and am starting to get cross eyed from all the options available and the lack of specs on all of them. The OEM cradle doesn't charge a spare battery and is too expensive. There are a plethora of aftermarket cradles out there and it seems that if you look at them there are really only a handful of styles probably rebranded and sold by several outlets. None of us run cases so fitment isn't a concern. So I'm hoping those who own these can chime in as to which is the one I should hone in on to try to find the best deal. Here's what I'm looking for.
-Needs to have a spare battery charger
-Needs to also charge the phone battery
-Needs to activate 'desktop mode' so I can mute tones automagically
-Must NOT activate any sort of USB storage mode requiring mount/unmount of SD card
-Prefer a dimly lit LED but this isn't mission critical since the charge LED on the phone is a beacon
-Needs to not take forever to charge batteries as some of them are underpowered from my reading
-Cheaper the better
I don't care about syncing so this isn't necessary for me. In fact, if I can get a cradle that charges both phone & battery with only a since A/C cord this would be ideal. I have enough plugs for two A/C adapters if required but I prefer just the one for when I travel and outlets are at more of a premium. I also prefer a cradle that holds the phone more upright than at an upward angle since our night stands are level with our bed where we lay so an upward angle makes it more difficult to see/reach to turn off alarm. Again, these aren't requirements... just like to haves if there's a couple options that meet my requirements above.
